The United Kingdom Prayer Movement was a vision birthed in the heart of Pastor Frank Mwiko from Zambia, who felt called to the U.K. to set up Prayer Conferences across the land establishing an annual Prayer Conference in each County. God has called and gathered a group of people to facilitate the vision.

In 2007, Pastor Frank Mwiko, who is from Zambia, and pastored a church in Doncaster felt lead to establish the UNITED KINGDOM PRAYER MOVEMENT based on the scriptures from 2 Chronicles 7:14 ''If My people who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked way; then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land''
This Vision was to pray for the United Kingdom County by County. He was convinced that this vision was from God.

In the year 2008 a group of leaders, whose hearts' God had touched concerning the need for prayer for the nation, formed to spearhead the Vision. The leadership
comprised of Church leaders from different church denominations and Christian organisations and towns, whose faith was in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour
and who believed that the Bible was the inspired Word of God. They all felt God was leading them to establish Prayer Conferences in all the counties of the United Kingdom. The vision involved mobilising the believers in Christ Jesus for the sake of praying for United Kingdom County by County once every year at a chosen venue, especiallyin University campuses until Jesus Christ comes.

The first conference was the Yorkshire Prayer Conference which took place in York at the York University on 15th August 2009- this has continued as an annual event. In 2010 Lancashire Prayer Conference was started and the chosen venue was the Cumbria University. This prayer conference has also continued at the same venue. Currently the National Board is praying and working on establishing prayer conferences in Lincolnshire and Durham. This shall continue until all the counties in United kingdom are covered with prayer.

  • We encourage the gathering of all who want to pray for the nation by helping to support a team who can link to the vision of hosting a county wide prayer gathering at a University within the respective county.

  • The National Executive Board of volunteers gives encouragement and support in establishing a County wide Prayer Conference.

  • Partner churches with the vision are given a link on our website

  • Leaders and Administrators from each county gather for Praise and Prayer half-yearly.
